Latin Fusion: Private Houston Collections

Monday, October 7, 10 a.m. - Noon, Wednesday, October 30, 10 a.m. – Noon | All sessions except November 20 will be in private houses; addresses will be provided to subscribers. November 20 will be at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet, 77005. Due to very limited enrollment, those who wish to subscribe to all sessions will be given priority.

Some of the world’s most extensive and impressive collections of Latin American Art are right here in Houston.  Our limited group will have exclusive access to some of the most extraordinary.

October 7 – A River Oaks house which offers an eye-opening, personal and eclectic collection of contemporary art and unusual sculpture and objects.

October 30 – A landmark River Oaks house filled with contemporary and Latin American art.

November 5 – A twilight adventure to a Memorial area house offering world-class Latin American art with a particular emphasis on video.

November 12 – First, an exciting new art space, then on to a private house with a prized collection of international artists’ work, both in the Museum District.

November 20 – Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where renowned curator of Latin American art, Mari Carmen Ramirez, will give us a private tour of the Antonio Berni exhibition.

Registration for fall 2018 is ongoing. You may register online, by mail, or by phone with a credit card. 

 

The interest list for the fall and spring study tours is open. If you are interested in traveling with the Houston Seminar to Natchez in the fall of 2018 or Virginia in the spring of 2019, please call the registrar at 713.666.9000 to place your name on a list. Please see Terms and Conditions for "travel list" policy.

 

Please note a date in the Mid-term Elections course has changed from that published in the brochure. The course will meet the first two Mondays, October 29 and November 5 as planned, but will meet Tuesday, November 13 instead of Monday, November 12. 

 

Also note Art Underground: Carlos Cruz-Diez at the Cistern on Wednesday, November 14 is FULLY SUBSCRIBED. A second session has been added and will meet Monday, November 12 from 2:00-3:30 P.M. Registrations are being accepted for November 12. You may register online, or by phone.
