Klineberg on Houston: 24 Years of City Surveys

Two Tuesdays, January 17 and 24, 7:00–8:30 p.m. | Brazos Bookstore, 2421 Bissonnet Limited Enrollment

Stephen Klineberg, a professor of sociology at Rice University, has conducted the Houston Area Survey every year since 1982. No other American city has been studied on this scale over as many years. Professor Klineberg has a Ph.D. from Harvard University and is the author of  many books and articles on contemporary social change, survey research methodologies, and urban and environmental sociology. He will present each of us with a copy of “Public Perception in Remarkable Times: Tracking Change Through 24 Years of Houston Surveys,” his report reviewing the results of the annual Houston Area Survey through its entire history.

January 17: Professor Klineberg will discuss economic and quality-of-life issues revealed in the most recent Houston Area Survey and changes in the attitudes of Houstonians regarding these issues over the past 24 years.

January 24:  Klineberg will present the demographic results of the most recent Houston Area Survey and will reveal changes over time.
