Eat Local at Hunky Dory

It’s hard to believe that the word “locavore” was first coined in 2005 (and surged in popularity to win “Word of the Year” in 2007 in the Oxford American Dictionary’s annual contest). Inspired by the success of our Delicious Yucatan learning lunch at Caracol last semester, The Houston Seminar invites you to “dine local” at Hunky Dory, the Treadsack Group’s hottest new pub/restaurant, in the Heights. Treadsack’s co-owner, Chris Cusack, and its director of operations, Benjy Mason, will lead a discussion on their passion: the meaning of eating local and the sense of community inspired by the locavore movement. Internationally acclaimed chef Richard Knight (late of Feast fame) will introduce each locally sourced course.  Join this food least for a lunch!

Please note a date in the Mid-term Elections course has changed from that published in the brochure. The course will meet the first two Mondays, October 29 and November 5 as planned, but will meet Tuesday, November 13 instead of Monday, November 12.
