• Private tours of Castillo de San Felipe del Morro, a fortress started in 1539 and completed in 1787, La Fortaleza, the official residence of Puerto Rico’s governor since the 16th century, and Casa Blanca, originally built in 1523 as a home for the island’s first governor, Juan Ponce de León

Cost:

The total cost of the trip is $2850 per person, double occupancy, with a deposit of $750 per person required at the time of registration. The single room supplement is an additional $660 (limited availability.) Room reservations must be made through the Houston Seminar and the HS reserves the right to assign specific rooms within the hotel in order to accommodate the group.

In addition to the roundtrip airfare from Houston via Continental Airlines, the trip cost includes baggage fee for one piece of luggage per person each way (Continental Elite Onepass members may take two bags for free); baggage handling at the airport and hotel; private bus transportation; admissions fees, taxes and gratuities, including tips for busboys, chambermaids, drivers and guides. Daily continental breakfast will be included, as well as a welcoming sangria cocktail hour on Wednesday evening, and daily wine and hors d’oeuvre evening receptions at the hotel, and four elegant dinners and three lunches. Except for the hotel cocktail hours and private receptions, alcoholic beverages are not included. Room service or other charges not included in the trip price are payable to the hotel and restaurants by credit card.

The price does not include travel insurance, medical, hospitalization, or evacuation costs. It is highly recommended that all travelers purchase travel insurance.

Transportation:

Group reservations have been made with Continental Airlines on the direct flight from Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).
Depart IAH, 10:10 a.m., March 3 on flight CO 212, arrive SJU 4:20 p.m.
Depart SJU, 4:30 p.m., March 7 on flight CO 1712, arrive IAH 7:04 p.m.

Payment Schedule:

Your place will be reserved upon receipt of a $750 deposit and the signed waiver of liability. Following is the schedule for payment:

January 19, 2010 Date by which you can receive a $500 refund should you withdraw from the trip. If you withdraw after this date, you will not receive any of the deposit back.
January 29, 2010 Non-refundable balance due.

Reservations will be accepted in the order received and must be accompanied by payment of the deposit and the signed waiver of liability. Please register early to secure a place. Registration may be made by mail or fax.

Requirement:

All participants should be in good health and capable of walking over rough, uneven, or steep terrain. By forwarding the deposit, the passenger certifies that he/she does not have any physical or other condition or disability that might create a hazard for him/herself or other group members.

Please note that Old San Juan is a hilly, cobblestoned, colonial Caribbean port.

The Houston Seminar reserves the right to cancel the trip due to inadequate subscription. If we should cancel the trip, all payments will be refunded.
