Solo Cello/Solo Viols Two Mondays, February 6 and 13, 7:00–8:30 p.m. Barrett Sills will play and discuss the most noble of stringed instruments and some of its early cousins. The first session includes works by Romantic composers and a suite for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. In the second session Sills will demonstrate instruments of the viol family and compare them with the modern cello; music may include works of Telemann and the great French gambist Marin Marais (subject of the 1991 film Tous les Matins du Monde).
