Paul Cummins, executive director of New Visions Foundation—an organization dedicated to the idea that all children deserve an excellent education—will speak on education and human rights. Paul Cummins is the founder of the Crossroads School and P. S. Arts, both in Los Angeles. He has also founded several successful Los Angeles charter schools including Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise Charter School, and the New Village Charter School. In addition, he founded the Center for Education Opportunity, which places foster children in independent schools. He has an M.A. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and is the author of
Proceed with Passion: Engaging Students in Meaningful Education and Two Americas, Two Educations: Funding Quality Schools for All Students.
